Our Organic Premium Raw Black Maca Powder is made from 100% black maca roots grown in the high Andes of Peru. Unlike standard raw maca, which is traditionally sun-dried, Premium maca is fresh processed shortly after harvest and gently dried at controlled low temperatures.
This pure black maca root powder is certified organic, Fair Trade, non-GMO, vegan and raw. It contains no fillers, sweeteners or unnecessary additives and has a stronger, more pronounced flavor than traditionally sun-dried black maca.
Premium Raw Black Maca Powder is a fresh-processed form of maca powder made exclusively from black maca roots. The roots are grown by an organic farming cooperative near Junín, Peru, one of the traditional maca-growing regions of the Andes.
Black maca is one of the three primary maca colors, along with red and yellow maca. This product contains only black maca root rather than a blend of colors. To learn more about this variety, visit our black maca guide.
The main difference is what happens immediately after harvest. Standard raw maca is traditionally dried slowly in the mountain sun. Premium maca roots are instead moved for processing soon after harvest and dried in controlled dehydrators at low temperatures.
This fresh-processing method gives Premium black maca powder a different flavor, appearance and composition from traditionally sun-dried maca. Premium black maca generally has a stronger, more pungent flavor and is produced in smaller seasonal quantities because processing takes place around the annual harvest.
Premium Raw Black Maca is a good choice for customers who specifically want raw black maca powder made with the fresh-processing method rather than traditional sun drying.
Its stronger, more pronounced flavor distinguishes it from standard sun-dried black maca. Many people prefer to mix Premium Raw Black Maca into smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, juice or recipes where the maca flavor can be combined with fruit, cacao, nut butters or other ingredients.
If you prefer a traditionally sun-dried preparation, compare our Organic Raw Black Maca Powder. If you prefer a Premium black maca with much of its natural starch removed, see our Premium Gelatinized Black Maca Powder.
Freshly harvested black maca roots are transported for processing soon after harvest rather than being left to dry for an extended period in the mountain sun. They are dried in controlled dehydrators at temperatures below approximately 105°F / 40°C and then prepared for milling into powder.
Because this is a raw maca product, it retains its naturally occurring starches. Customers who prefer a preparation with much of the natural starch removed may find gelatinized maca better suited to their preferences.
Premium Raw Black Maca Powder can be mixed into water, juice, milk, smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal and other foods or beverages. Its powdered format also makes it easy to adjust the amount you use.
For more ways to use black maca powder in foods and drinks, visit our collection of maca recipes.
At The Maca Team, we focus exclusively on high-quality Peruvian maca. We work closely with growers and producers in Peru to support careful sourcing, traditional agriculture and consistent product quality.
Our maca is selected according to sourcing and processing guidelines that emphasize purity, responsible cultivation and transparency. Learn more about these practices on our Our Standards page.
Our Company specializes in Peruvian maca and offers multiple maca colors, processing methods and formats so customers can choose the product that best fits their preferences.
Store your Premium Raw Black Maca Powder in a sealed container or sealed bag away from direct sunlight, heat and excess humidity. When properly stored, the powder keeps well for up to approximately 24 months.
Many people begin with about 1 teaspoon (3 g) daily and gradually increase to 1–3 teaspoons (3–9 g) daily based on preference and tolerance. Premium Raw Black Maca Powder may be mixed with water, juice, milk, smoothies, yogurt or other foods.
For more detailed guidance, visit our complete serving guidelines.
Premium Raw Black Maca is a good option if you specifically want black maca in a fresh-processed raw form with a stronger flavor than traditionally sun-dried maca.

I’ve been trying black maca for about 5 months and will continue taking it. So far I’ve been feeding a lot healthier taking it. Thank you team Maca.
Chris (verified owner) –
I’ve used Maca powder throughout an active and athletic life. I cannot be sure that this maca powder, given the many supplements I take, is responsible for the fact that I am unusually strong and healthy, but I know that my body responds and I find myself craving it if I go without maca for a day or two. The quality of this maca is the best I’ve ever experienced, and the order fulfillment is the best in the supplements industry, equaled only by Laird Hamilton’s company. I am a big fan of the Maca Team.
Saravanan (verified owner) –
This is a high quality black maca root powder. It has an earthy, slightly bitter taste. I like to take it separately on its own as it gives a bitter taste to smoothies.

Ray (verified owner) –
I used to buy this on amazon until it was unavailable. It was the best tasting maca ever. Like butter scotch, I can take it by the mouthful.
I recently found this website, I was so excited, so I just ordered it, Black and raw.
But this is PREMIUM, and the taste is just so off putting and bitter, like gasoline. It’s my fault, I just assumed premium meant better, I didn’t read too much into it, I was too excited.
They can’t exchange it, so I have take the loss on this entire kilo. I’m not happy about it.
However, I will be ordering the Organic Raw Black because it really is that good.
Again, it’s my fault, but still, if you’re expecting that wonderful butter scotch flavor, you’re in for a shock with the Premium.
MICHAEL A Richmond (verified owner) –
the taste is so horrible, it is nauseating in water or coffee. like green beans X20. I can only eat my 2 tsp a day mixed in my breakfast cereal, or scrambled into eggs/cheese. but I do notice a bit more energy on my hikes/runs/skis, and not having to go pee more than 1-2X a nite now. so it is worth taking. next time I may go to capsules or extract.
David (verified owner) –
I feel like the sun dried has a more profound effect than this premium version. Next purchase will be that. Quality is excellent though.
Noah (verified owner) –
I’ve used this product in the past. The taste wasn’t good. Something changed though and this batch I have now tastes terrible. Even diluted it’s hard to consume. It tastes like this batch was grown right next to radishes and they picked up the flavor in a very bad way. I don’t know if I’ll even finish my bag, which is sad because I thought the old batch worked great for what I use it for.
Hi Noah, we’ve reached out via email to see if we can help troubleshoot. Certainly there are differences between maca batches, but they typically aren’t so drastic.

The taste is very, VERY strong. Much stronger, spicier, and earthier than regular maca. It’s even stronger than they described it. It pretty much ruins the taste of my smoothies. I want to ask for a refund, but don’t know if they offer one.
Hi Greg: We’ll reach out via email to help you out. Indeed it is stronger in taste that standard maca. We do our best to make that as clear as possible on the site.
N G Blenkey (verified owner) –
Nasty and peppery
Too light and powdery to mix properly into anything that would make it palatable
Hi NG: We’re sorry that you don’t like the taste. We try to make it as clear as possible on our site that premium maca powders do have a very strong flavor. We’ve reached out via email to see if we can help further.

This is my first time using the “premium raw black maca” it is by far the worst tasting supplement I have ever consumed in my entire life. When you mix it, it’s almost white when in the past my black maca was always beige or light brown. This stuff tastes like ground radishes and onions in water. I literally gag trying to choke this stuff down. The black maca I’ve used in the past with this same company was not like this. It was a more nutty slightly sweet flavor. I’m not sure what the difference is but I won’t be buying this stuff again.
–Hi Daniel. Thanks for sharing this. The Premium Maca of all colors is much more pungent and spicy than our standard sundried maca powders. Some people like it and others don’t at all. We’re sure this testimonial will be helpful for people who are on the fence. If anyone is on the fence reading this, we recommend starting with a small 8 oz bag to see if you like it before committing to a larger size. — The Maca Team
Steve Haig (verified owner) –
I’ve been getting my maca root from the Maca Team for several years now. Most recently focusing on premium black marker. I feel that it gives the best results for my needs. I definitely can tell the difference when I run out and don’t renew my supply in a timely manner. It gives me energy, stamina, mental focus and drive. Which for an over 60 guy it’s very helpful. I take it every morning with my protein drink. Without fail. If I know I’m going to be particularly physically active in the afternoon I will take another tablespoon full with a glass of water so I can continue with my stamina and endurance and strength. It’s easy and efficient and effective. Love it.

Best product, I felt the difference within a week, more energy I been using it for over 6 months
Shawn Maloney (verified owner) –
started taking 2 teaspoons of black and 1 teaspoon of red raw Maca Root powder. i warm up a cup of unsweetened almond milk and add powder and mix with a pulse mixer. the warm liquid helps to desolve the powder better. add another cup of almond milk and some ice. i drink this every morning on an empty stomach. the first 30 to 40 days was rough. my stomach cramped for about an hour. i had terrible gas for at least half a day. my bowel movements doubled in that time… i was determined to do the drink for 3 months and then decide if i would continue. amazing the discomfort and gas went away after 40 ish days and never had pains and gas again. 6 months now drinking every morning. i have a lot of energy, no more coffee. i feel the best i ever have. i would recommend this to anyone. the changes to my moods, my energy levels up, my metabolism is way up.. i feel Maca has helped to become a better athlete, better with working energy, and my stomach and bowls have become the best ever. Highly Recommend the raw Red and Black powder to anyone that would want your life.

I like the fact that it works as soon as you start taking it, and love the sting flavor of radish
Billy (verified owner) –
This product I can tell is of quality based on the powder of the Maca root however I placed somewhat of an expectation on the root. I expected it to at least give me a little bit of an enhanced and however it never did. Credited I only used to for a week and a half. The amount of credit there is to this product is 50/50 but I give it a 3 star due to its quality in packaging and shipping
Mike Rojas (verified owner) –

This little known product is so good for you in so many ways. This is by far one of the best products on the market. It takes some work to blend with other powders I use, but the benefits are awesome. Someone mentions Maca to my wife and now she is hooked. Look no further for other products, this you will love.
Robin (verified owner) –
It feels great! I like it best when I use a spoonful in a small jar with ice-cold water & shake with the lid on. Dissolves well!

I started using maca in May, 2019. I liked it and became really interested in maca. Initially I bought from T#rr@soul and viv@n@tur@ls via Amazon, both good companies. Then I learned about The Maca Team, their product is just way better. After trying yellow, tri color and black, both gelatinized and raw, premium and strd I settled on raw premium black. I have a bag of chips too which are pretty interesting. The customer service/support is top notch and among the best I’ve worked with. Thanks

I have been using and enjoying this product for over a year. And I can say with confidence that it has brought me noticeable and lasting health benefits. For me, it’s a wonderful addition to my morning coffee. But it can be added to whatever you consume – a shake, oatmeal or other hot cereal, baked goods, etc. It provides me lasting energy and I don’t feel a need to augment my morning routine with snacks, healthy or otherwise. The price is pricey, but I believe I am getting what I pay for. I would rather pay a premium now for what I put in my body instead of a doctor later for a life poorly lived. Using The Maca Team black maca root powder is one way of investing in my health.
Alyssa sherman (verified owner) –
The black maca root has helped me so much! Love it!
Bob (verified owner) –
I previously purchased from The Maca Team on Amazon. After they moved off Amazon I followed them because there is nothing I’ve found that compares to their product. The Maca Team is a great company – all my interactions with them have been extremely positive and their product is second to none!
Angelo Panagiotidis (verified owner) –
First time purchasing this product.very pleased with the quality.the packaging. The delivery service was quick.i like the 2.2 lbs bag.you have enough product to use without re ordering often.as for the performance of this product haven’t yet finished the bag but it seems to work well.just a note i only use 1 teaspoon per day.3 seems too much.but maybe i will see what happens when i increase the doseage.
Adrian K (verified owner) –
I mix this with the red maca powder, the red maca tastes more strongly in my opinion, but definitely has a very good effect when combined together.
I mix half a tbsp of each into some greek yogurt right before work each day, and within half an hour I notice my energy levels increase quite a bit, but at the same time in not jittery.
My sex drive has increase quite a bit after only 3 weeks of daily use, at about 1 tbsp per day, VERY nice side effect
Andy Brignone (verified owner) –
I have been a customer of the Maca Team and have used their Premium Black Maca Powder for years now. There may be a lot of Maca Powder products on the market but honestly this is the very best in terms of quality and consistency. I wouldn’t even consider another. And my experience with this company also is the best for reliability and customer service. I value this product and this company.

Slight increase in sustained energy with recommended dosage.
Most likely will up the dose
Bill McIlvride (verified owner) –
This stuff is advertised as having a strong flavor, and they sure aren’t kidding. I found it to be essentially inedible. I guess it was just not to my taste at all. I don’t know what to do with it, I can’t use it, and since it’s opened, I doubt if I can return it.
John (verified owner) –
This stuff is the real deal. Actual noticeable effect, which is rare with supplements (although this is actually a powdered food, not a supplement). Only complaint would be that the ziplock on the packaging is small which makes it difficult to reseal, so if you buy the large size (2.2 lbs) you’re going to have this problem for a while. Even so, highly recommended.
Mitchell (verified owner) –
Received this product 2-3 months ago. Have been taking the 3tsp daily and haven’t encountered any of the benefits mentioned. Very disappointed as it wasn’t cheap to buy this product.
jeff austin (verified owner) –
I’m a 59 year old man. I’ve been using black maca for a couple of years as a nutritional boost. I mix a heaping teaspoon with water in the mornings roughly 30 minutes prior to going to the gym… It gives me more energy.I have more endurance. If for some reason I miss it (running late, whatever) I can tell…I won’t have as much “gas in the tank”… I highly reccomend Black Maca…

The Black Maca powder has since become my morning ritual and it brightens my morning as a coffee. I do mix the Black and the Red powders together. There’ve been noticeable changes bathroom habits and in fact, Black Maca powder appears to be living up to its expectations.

This Maca has a very strong very good different from the yellow maca I was using. I do recommend this to anyone looking for high quality maca. Just try using small amounts a first it is spicy but not in a bad way.

Order shipped and received in a couple of days. Service is great.
Black Maca has given me a definite energy lift. Third product I’ve tried from The Maca Team.
Highly recommend them and their products.
Richard McBroom (verified owner) –
Love the stuff. It has helped me to get off of blood pressure pills. The pharmaceutical business and doctors are in kahoots together and want to keep you sick and coming back for more. There is always a NATURAL AND HEALTHY WAY.
Doug Brisendine (verified owner) –
Very tasty- works well with my protein isolate shakes.
Folks in AZ –
I enjoy the energy boost from the black maca and my wife benefits with red maca reduced hormone swings.
JABBA (verified owner) –
Black Maca Root seems to have provided benefits from my first experience.
Specifically, my energy increased and continued thru the day.
Also, this earthy, malt/hops-flavored powder filled me up and seems to suppress my appetite: I’m losing weight, for sure.
I make it in a shake, which seems to function as breakfast.
Finally, the company seems authentic; their story is really interesting; they’re helping indigenous people provide life-extending , exotic, rare, pure supplements; they’re NOT associated with Amazon; we should support this constructive and fair business model.
I intend to continue enjoying these benefits….

Thank you for a wonderful product! It is good to know that the growing process is natural, and the purity and freshness are kept. In today’s environment it is difficult to find a reliable source, and thank you!
Rich Frederici (verified owner) –
It’s a great product, and I recommend it to friends.
Brian (verified owner) –
It mixes well with protein powder for after my workout. It is hard to gauge effectiveness – there is no objective measurement that I am aware of.
A measuring scoop would be nice addition.
Jaime Herrera (verified owner) –
I am extremely pleased with the flavor and nutrient boost that I get from your black maca.

Gigi (verified owner) –
I am almost done with my first one. It has barely been a month. The customer service I have to say it’s a 10. Very helpful
As for the product, the reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is because I’m not sure if it has been helping with muscle growth and energy yet. I workout 5-6 times a week and I am
A bikini competitor. The reason I decided to take maca was to help with muscle growth on my legs and glutes. I have not seen much difference yet. I have been taking 2 tbls a day. Maybe I will need to contact the team again and see if they think I should be taking more
I will give it another rating next month. But I do love it. It has atleast helped me maintain my muscle as I am cutting for competition in 4 weeks
Lea (verified owner) –
I’ve used this product for several years and I love it. I take a blend of the black maca and the red. I’m 53 and very active. This maca is better than any other brand I’ve tried.

I’ve tried other Maca products on this site and nothing worked. I’ve tried dozens of other companies and nothing worked. And, then BAM! This form of Maca worked in just a few days of taking it. Let’s just say I’m a raging bull in the bedroom. Holy cow! Along with energy, stamia and alot more that I can’t say on here :) This is the Maca to use.
John (verified owner) –
Excellent product. Was having a problem with fatigue and alertness. This product did the trick. Only using half of the recommended dose. Best part is it don’t get me all fired or jittery up like caffeine or dark chocolate. Also have more energy when I do exercise routines. At my age its a blessing. Definitely the best Black Maca Product I have tried.
Quez (verified owner) –

I have been using Premium Gelatinized Black Maca powder for several years and this time I switched to Raw for the benefit of complete nutrition. I was a little sceptical that I might experience some intestinal discomfort but found it to be completely without any undesirable effects so this is now my go-to variety. Delicious, versatile and very well processed, The Maca Team has made it possible to receive the highest quality product.
Abudull Rahiem (verified owner) –

This is my 4th bag of Raw Black Maca and I was surprised how different this bag was. Very light in color, very sweet and difficult to get down. Wondering if was mislabeled or just a very different crop year.
Baron (verified owner) –
I have tried several maca powders and The Maca Team hits it out of the park everytime. Not just a good product but you can also feel good about where it comes from and how it is harvested. I wouldnt spend my money on any other maca product. MACA TEAM all the way.
Trevon Williams (verified owner) –
Return customer. I’ve never had an issue purchasing maca from here before but this batch has been god awful. Lighter color, doesn’t dissolve and has a weird spicy kick to it. Not sure if I can finish it. Satisfied customer from previous orders so I will give it one more chance
Nathan Johnson (verified owner) –
Not that I’ve tried 100 different maca suppliers in the world but this stuff is really the bomb. It really does what they claim it does. Wish it was cheaper as the other flavors but it’s not a bad price for real black maca. Highly recommend

Didn’t realise I bought the raw one. The taste is very strong and made me feel sick for yours. The only way I’ve managed to consume this is adding boiling water and mixing it with coffee
John Richard (verified owner) –
Am new to using Maca, but have found that the Black Maca Root Powder, seems to help energy level during my workouts (free weights). It seems to also have an effect (positive!) on my libido! In other words the info on the stuff is true, as far as I am concerned!

I spent lots of time researching the best quality Maca and prices and reviews and quantities, and this company exceeded in all areas!! I received my package quickly, I love the website which is super user friendly, and the packaging itself for the products keeps it fresh… you can tell the quality of this product before you even use it just from the quality packaging alone. The product itself is the best I have ever tried, and I love that it is sourced where the highest quality Maca is from, which I found out from all of the incredibly educative information that was part of my product package :) 100 percent recommend, the they also did a great job with pricing to make it affordable for such a high quality product! Thank you!!!

jay gibson (verified owner) –
This is simply the best black maca I’ve found. Gives me extra energy, seems to balance hormone glands and boost libido.
thank you
Tim Fox (verified owner) –
I have use the regular black maca and been very pleased.. My last order I decided to try the premium. I am not pleased with it.. First it has a strong and rather unpleasant taste and, more importantly, it is very difficult to get it to dissolve/breakdown in a liquid. The only way I have been successful in doing that is with a blender which is bothersome and not in line with my usual use.
Jerzy (verified owner) –
very good supplement
Andy Brignone (verified owner) –
This is an excellent high quality Maca powder from folks I highly respect. Their Maca products are consistently high quality and they have been very responsive to my questions and needs. I had been taking the company’s regular black Maca for a few years and switched to the premium several months ago. I wouldn’t buy Maca from anyone else. As I approach 72, I can still hike the mountains with the best of them including those half my age!
Tobius Faulk –
This stuff really works!, took a little while to get used to the taste, but once I figured out how to hide it it became easier to use. IÕve have so much energy!! Lol I think a little too much. I just want to thank you guys for this honest product. Will definitely be back soon! Blessings

I really love all the organic Black and Red Maca. I mix them both together and make a Banana, Blueberry & Strawberry smoothie every morning. I am 64 and still working and the Maca give me energy through out the day. Great product, thank you.

I have been consuming different forms of maca for over 15 years from just about every popular brand name company out there and can say without a doubt this is the best so far. I don’t hesitate to go straight for the taste test of the powder itself with only water to wash it down to see the full flavor profile…that way I can really experience whether or not it has that spicy earthy kick which is a tell sign of its potency / quality / nutritional makeup and density. This maca make me feel as though I have been getting ripped off for 15 years and should have been ordering from the Maca Team. Yes, I will be purchasing Black and Red Premium maca from this company as long as its available…one of my favorites things is to make a few warm cups a matcha tea and mix it together. Thanks for the goods!
David –
I have made black maca powder a daily part of my lifestyle for almost a year now, and I have to say wow. I’ve noticed more muscle on my frame, and it’s a dramatic change compared to where I was a year ago. At 62 years old, it’s not easy to make these kinds of changes, so I’m really glad that I found black maca—you are a friend for life.

This is a great product from a great company. IÍve taken their black maca for over two years now and at age 71, still have stamina, strength and endurance to ski, hike, bike, golf and run as I did years ago. You can easily see this is more than a business to the family who runs the company. They have a passion for excellence and quality in their products.

I bought this product for low testosterone and although the jury is still out on this as I am awaiting blood work in the coming weeks, I can say I am feeling invigorated which means a lot to me being 61 and obese.

I’ve been taking 3-5 TBSP of black maca a day for stress, libido and energy. If it worked 1/2 as well for one of those functions, I would still take it. As it is, this is my current favorite supplement. Seems to be helping my weight training, feeling less stress, and getting into the zone.
The effect on libido is very strong.
Old Jeff –
I’ve tried different Maca over the last two years and this Premium Black Maca is the best. Mixes easily and tastes better than others.

I have been buying various maca products from The Maca Team for the last few years with very good results. However the new Premium Raw Black Maca is really a giant improvement over the other products I have tried. It tastes great, dissolves easily & works quickly. This product is a major breakthrough & I highly recommend it. Service & prompt shipping adds to the good experience.

Never disappointed when I order from this site…
David McNulty –
I have used two different formulations of the powdered Maca and was pleased with each.
I believe a body could take any form of Maca from the Macateam and recieve physical and mental benefits from the consumption thereof. I am a long-time customer and really could not be happier with any aspect of… everything! Believe me, if I have written that phrase before, I don’t recall it.
John C –
Seems to be a beneficial supplement.. I do notice an increase in energy and maybe a little more focus. I would like to see a starter pack with a medium size selection of all forms to determine effectiveness for individual concerns. I order the 3 color to cover all bases but wonder if I would better address needs with another option.
The MACA TEAM are great.. order fulfillment is fast.. packaging is great… selections seems comprehensive.. prices seem OK… Would HIGHLY recommend !

Got the raw this time bc it said it was stronger but I feel like the Premium was stronger.
Joseph –
Since IÕve been taking the Maca powder, I gotta say, I feel the difference in my energy and digestive system. The difference is a positive one.
Gideon –
Wow, I can’t believe that I have been using this product since mid July 2018!
In general, The Maca Team offers an excellent family of products. I have now used both the Premium and Non-Premium brands, and have found real benefit in both versions.
Any differentiation related to taste was a non-issue for me.
Try the Premium version so you can have a measure of comparison; everyone’s body responds differently.
I would recommend this product as much as I would recommend the non-premium version. Frankly, I like both versions but I am still trying to figure out why I would pay more for one version over the other, aside from the claim of the higher-anti-cancer-nutrient properties in the Premium version.
THOMAS –
about the 6th time I took the product by putting some in my protein shake 3 grams jacked my heart rate thru the roof , not good !
Hi Thomas, Thank you for sharing. We are careful to point out that people with high blood pressure should start very small with Maca and keep an eye on their pressure and modify accordingly. Maca stimulates blood circulation and can affect blood pressure and the use of blood pressure medicines that way. As always, we encourage you to consult with a health care professional in terms of taking Maca. – The Maca Team
Ron –
When I received the Black Maca I did not have any specific expectations. I started out putting three teaspoons of it in my morning protein drink first thing after waking up. On the very first day I could feel a little increase in energy and more positive clarity in mood. Also a positive response when exercising. I have been impressed, will order again and have recommended to several people.

I have tried different Maca powders. In my opinion The Maca Team Premium Black Maca Root Powder is the best I have tried. I can definitely say I do feel more energized when using this product. When I first started the changes were subtle, but noticeable. My first reaction was am I just saying this because the product description stated it? After using Premium Black Maca for some months now, I can definitely say I am more energized.
I recommend The Maca Team. I also like the information The Maca Team offers to educate on Maca and the history of this amazing root. Keep up the good work! Peace

This will be my 3rd order of this fine product. It was professionally packaged on arrival as usual and its quality is excellent for price..This product gives you an added energy boost and keeps you feeling “UP” during the day…I would recommend this product to anyone.

Been drinking maca easily for over a decade. I’ve tried pretty much every brand and every color out there. The Maca Team “Raw Black Maca” is by far my most favorite one. ( haven’t gone back to any other one since I found it) I can really feel drastic performance increase during strenuous exercise from it.
Weirdly I’m not crazy about the taste of any maca but when it’s mixed in smoothies I can’t tell it’s even there. Just a huge fan of the results.
Gideon –
In general, I have ordered the non-premium black maca version for a long while.
My results have been positive. Now, when I was asked to switch to the latest iteration, I really can’t comment about the effectiveness of this product. The four-star review is being extended because I do believe in The Maca Team’s commitment in general.
The Maca Team has tried to differentiate how this product is different from the original. Aside from the way the product is fabricated, we were told that this version has more nutrients that may be anti-cancerous versus the original version that have nutrients that are linked to hormone health.
All of which, from a consumer standpoint, the claims are hand waving and not quantifiable. Therefore, I honestly can’t tell you whether the Premium brand is better or even different.
Moreover, I suspect after I use the Premium brand, I really don’t know whether I will be able to communicate any subtle differences. However, as I stated earlier, in general I have had positive benefits in using black maca, irrespective of whether or not the brand is original or premium.
I have been using this version for almost two weeks as of this review.
Finally, if in fact I can’t differentiate the difference, quantifiably say from a blood panel or urine sample for example, I’ll probably switch back to the original.

This company is the best. I screwed up on my mailing address several times just being in a rush and it was my first time ordering from there website. The sales representative help make the corrections and got my product within days of the correction. What impressed me more than anything was her overall professionalism and how she handled my error! Great customer service in today’s business is rare,so when you have a company like the Maca Team going above and behind to satisfy a customer that’s how you create long term business relationship! I told the representative that experience truly created a customer for life!

I’ve been chronically ill for over 6 years. Black maca root is an EXCELLENT food for a person in my position. I don’t eat many other cruciferous vegetables, most are not my thing and some cause me distress and troubles in my guts. FORTUNATELY I don’t experience those issues with black maca root. It does not taste good to me, my initial reaction was that I thought it had a taste reminiscent of Brussels sprouts. But I mix it with powdered cocoa and it works AMAZINGLY for me. So as long as I have some maca, I am getting a cruciferous vegetable 6 days a week. HELLO MY FRIEND GLUTATHIONE. I have found many tools I use as weapons in my battle for my health against chronic illness. Back maca root is a heavy hitter, I feel like I get a ton of bang fo r4 my buck! Money well spent. Thank you for helping me in my journey.
