Overview
Our raw premium tri-color maca root capsules contain 100% maca powder made from about 40% yellow, 30% red and 30% black maca roots. Premium processing of these roots leaves more nutrients in the final product and makes for an extremely potent final product. We directly oversee the making of these capsules to ensure that they contain absolutely no other ingredients. As with all of our maca capsules these capsules are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and certified organic.
What Is Raw Premium Tri-Color Maca?
Until the early 2000s, maca roots were not separated by color. Instead all the roots from a given harvest, whether black, red or yellow, were lumped together to create maca root powders and capsules. This is the simplest and most traditional way of consuming maca and it offers the advantage of getting benefits of all 3 of the major colors. Our tri-color maca products preserve this tradition.
Raw tri-color maca is never heated over about 105F/40C which preserves all of its vitamin C content as well as enzyme content. Premium processing of this maca also works to preserve more nutrient content, specifically glucosinolate content. The level of glucosinolates is standardized at above 1% in our premium maca. Glucosinolates are nutrients thought to be associated with anti-cancer properties. Creating premium maca requires special fast processing and special equipment and therefore the resulting products are a bit more expensive. Most of our customers say that the extra benefits from them are worth the extra cost.

Getting The Most Out Of Maca Capsules
We believe that these raw premium tri-color maca capsules offer some of the best results available for people starting with maca.
One important thing to note is that raw maca does contain starch content and can lead to an upset stomach for about 5% of people. If you have a sensitive digestion, we recommend getting a gelatinized (pre-cooked) maca product instead. These have had the starch content removed and are therefore easy to digest. We do also sell gelatinized premium tri-color maca capsules.

They come from an organic farming co-op near Junin, Peru, the traditional farming area for Maca. We work only with producers who own and manage their lands at a local grass roots level. Beyond that, since we oversee the production of our capsules we can ensure that they contain nothing except our maca powders. No fillers, flow agents or chemicals of any kind.
Storage/Shelf Life:
Maca capsules keep well for up to 24 months provided that it is stored in a sealed container out of direct sunlight and at below 70% humidity.
