Our Organic Gelatinized Tri-Color Maca Powder is made from a traditional blend of yellow, red and black maca roots grown in the high Andes of Peru. This blend contains approximately 40% yellow maca, 30% red maca and 30% black maca, bringing all three primary maca colors together in one product.

This is not the first time buying this product, but this is the first time that I’ve had this problem. We have opened 1 bag so far, so not sure all the bags have this problem. The bag we opened has a lot of clumps. The clumps don’t break even in a shaker bottle with the wire ball inside. Not sure if the others have this issue, but I hope they don’t.

I really, really, really, wanted this product to work for me. I bought this to try since I had previously tried a different brand and it upset my stomach. Sadly, this product did the same. About half way though my beverage, I could feel a chill come over me and my stomach started churning in a very concerning way. I barely had a tablespoon in my drink. I didn’t finish it but still had stomach pain and diarrhea for 24 hours.
As far as using the product, the taste was strong and while not awful, it wasn’t pleasant either. While I recognize it’s exactly what it’s supposed to be, it was too strong for me and even if I didn’t have tummy issues, I wouldn’t have been able to use it as often as I had intended because of the taste.
From The Maca Team: HI Victoria, this does happen to a small percentage of people, even with gelatinized products. If you still want to try maca, we suggest taking one of our liquid extracts. That won’t cause any stomach upset. Let us know if you have questions.

Been loving this in my daily smoothies. I did a good amount of research prior to choosing which maca to buy and the maca team is amazing. No bs ingredients, love that this company is family owned, and actually love the flavour it adds. Only downside is that I am in Canada and the dollar conversion plus shipping is very expensive… there are definitely less expensive brands out there.. Will have to think about where to order next time… I did purchase the largest size so it will last me quite some time.

Now that I bought the HUGE bag of Maca Root, I really don’t think I’ll ever go a morning without it. If I want something cold, I put it in a blueberry, spinach and almond milk smoothie. My functional medicine doc recommended The Maca Team Tri Color gelatinized to help me with hormone issues. I could not even tolerate 1/8 of a teaspoon! I got really bad jitters – it felt like all of my insides were shaking and my heart was pounding. It also made me bloated, even though the gelatinized version is supposed to be more easily digestible. I tried for about a week, thinking it would get used to it. Nope. My husband was interested in trying it, too, but 1/4 teaspoon caused his heart to race badly enough that he had to lie down in bed. I think it is strange that we both had such bad reactions. I’m angry that we lost not only money, but precious time while it was making us feel so crummy.

I love the stuff my first time I saw maca was at a flea market in South Carolina while on vacation ,paid a big five bucks best five bucks I spent in many years . By the time I got home 5-6 days later my body totally detoxed and I was on my way to feeling better . Since then my blood pressure and heart rate has really improved . Along with mental , emotional and memory has improved . I have only been taking maca since may . So I highly recommend maca I use the heritage harvest blend so I and my husband will get all the benefits of maca .

Overall the product tastes pretty good. I have progressed up to 1 tablespoon a day over the past 3 weeks. Unfortunately I haven’t noticed any difference with any of the effects of taking MACA. I would like to say that customer service is fantastic. Great to help with quick responses. Another thing to consider is that I have not tried any other MACA products. I am still excited to take this product and will continue to use it. Hopefully I can leave another review in a month (they mention it might take up to 6 weeks to see its benefit). I am also curious to try it in recipes but not sure how much I can increase over the recommended amount per day.

The ‘ORGANIC GELATINIZED PREMIUM RED MACA POWDER’ has a mild flavour and certainly is a premium product.
The delivery was very prompt and well within the dates given. The only downside to ordering this product online to Australia was the postage cost. I was going to order multiple packets but it was going to apply the postage cost of $26.27 USD to each packet.

Been using Maca for a year or so. I usually mix a heaping spoon full of Black Maca with water first thing in the morning before I go to the gym. I find that Black Maca gives me more energy and stamina. I’m 57 years old, and can make guys half my age “fall out” trying to out lift or out pace me in the cross-fit class I take… If I ever skip a day taking Black Maca, I feel it… the “reserves” are not in my tank. The only reason I gave the Gelatinized Black Maca 4 stars vs 5. is I prefer the “earthy taste” of the raw black maca. Both varieties work well. Look at it as a “super food”, there is serious nutrition here. It works.
