Our Organic Premium Gelatinized Red Maca Powder is made from 100% red maca roots grown in the high Andes of Peru. This product combines two preparation methods: the roots are fresh processed soon after harvest and then gelatinized to remove most of their naturally occurring starch.
The result is a pure red maca root powder that is certified organic, Fair Trade, non-GMO and vegan. It contains no fillers or unnecessary additives and offers a lower-starch alternative to raw red maca powder.
Premium Gelatinized Red Maca Powder is made exclusively from red maca roots grown by an organic farming cooperative in and around Junín, Peru, one of the traditional maca-growing regions of the Andes.

Premium refers to the way the maca roots are handled immediately after harvest. Traditionally processed maca roots are slowly dried in the mountain sun. Premium maca roots are instead transported for processing soon after harvest and dried in controlled dehydrators.
This fresh-processing method gives Premium maca a different flavor, appearance and composition from traditionally sun-dried maca. Premium maca powders generally have a more pronounced flavor and are produced in more limited quantities because fresh processing takes place around the annual harvest season.
After the initial Premium drying process, the red maca is gelatinized. Gelatinization uses heat and pressure to break down and remove most of the root’s natural starch content.
Despite the name, gelatinized maca contains no gelatin. No animal ingredients are added during the process, and the finished gelatinized red maca powder remains completely plant-based and vegan.

I buy this regularly. It tastes the best compared to another brand I bought that cost a little less. Also, I believe it keeps my hot flashes in check a little bit. I can’t say that it has completely taken them away, but, I think they are less severe when I take one teaspoon in the morning and then one teaspoon at night. If I’ve been taking it for a month or so and I find that my hot flashes are not incredibly severe, I take a day off each week from taking maca. If I am taking the maca and I feel like it has stopped working, then I go off it completely for a few days and then start again, as this has seemed to get it working again. All this is still in the experimental phase for me, but even my doctor thinks it has been working and not just chance or a placebo effect. I am very pleased with this product. It arrived quite quickly and the packaging is very sturdy and resealable so it should stay fresh. I have been taking 1 teaspoon twice a day for about three weeks. I admit it tastes like a strong turnip, but it contains many vitamins. The reason I am taking this is that I am in the last part of perimenopause, and have been experiencing severe hot flashes for about 5 months. When I started taking the Maca on around the 10th of February 2023, my hot flashes were happening once every thirty minutes to an hour and triggered by any kind of stressful thought at all. Any kind of embarrassment or exertion or even bending over to get something off of a shelf. Just a most miserable experience it has been as you can imagine. And not only that, but I can tell that a hot flash is starting, my head feels weird and my eyes water a little, then I know I have about 20 seconds to remove any extra layers of a jacket or anything I can and still be dressed decently. I have set up a powerful fan beside my bed as they happen every night the moment I drift off to sleep like clockwork I am awakened by a hot flash. I then am able to sleep but am wakened sometimes many times a night with my clothes miserably damp so that I have to change. I am glad that it is winter where I live because if I am home I step outside into the below-freezing temperatures, the windier the better, and cool down. I can’t tell you how amazingly refreshing that is. And just for reference, I normally hate the cold weather. Anyhow, for a few days now, I haven’t woken up with as damp of clothes so many times during the night. And the most exciting thing though, and I won’t be completely certain until I see this continue into the near future, but since yesterday, when a hot flash comes on, it has been very, very mild and I don’t even need to step outside, though I still do remove my extra layers if I have them on until the hot flash passes. Let’s hope it is the Maca doing its job. Or I guess it could just be that the hot flashes would have stopped anyway, but, I couldn’t say. I don’t take anything else like HRT or anything and never have. So, I am glad for Maca being a thing and for the many people who have studied this amazing plant. I am very grateful for the Maca Team. The ‘ORGANIC GELATINIZED PREMIUM RED MACA POWDER’ has a mild flavour and certainly is a premium product.
The delivery was very prompt and well within the dates given. The only downside to ordering this product online to Australia was the postage cost. I was going to order multiple packets but it was going to apply the postage cost of $26.27 USD to each packet.
