Our raw black maca root powder is made only from black maca roots sourced from farmers in and around Junín, Peru. We work with growers committed to organic agriculture, careful harvesting and responsible handling from the field through production.
The roots are harvested at maturity, naturally sun-dried in the Andes and stored under dry conditions. They are then milled into powder when needed and packaged in small batches to help maintain freshness.
Traditional raw maca preparation begins with sun-drying the harvested roots rather than processing them immediately after harvest. Once dried, the roots can be stored until they are ready to be milled.
Our raw black maca is milled at low temperatures and remains un-gelatinized, so the finished powder retains the natural starch found in maca root. Customers who prefer a preparation with much of the natural starch removed may prefer our Organic Gelatinized Black Maca Powder.

This is my favorite because it’s been helping my thyroid gland. I’ve been very sensitive to laundry chemicals and synthetic fragrances all my life. Whenever I get around them, my thyroid gives me a warning signal of pain. I’ve tried taking seaweeds and such for thyroid help. I don’t take drugs so I’m always looking for nutrition to help do it’s job.
When I found The Maca Team products, they indicated right away. I’ve tried maca products before but only the plain color. I bought both the red and the black to see what was best. It turns out that the black turned off the thyroid pain sensation within minutes of taking some. I’ve been putting about 1/16 of a teaspoon directly into my mouth three times a day. My appetite has increased and my muscle mass is coming back. This is just after taking it for about one week. My thyroid gland isn’t yelling so loudly now either.

This is my favorite because it’s been helping my thyroid gland. I’ve been very sensitive to laundry chemicals and synthetic fragrances all my life. Whenever I get around them, my thyroid gives me a warning signal of pain. I’ve tried taking seaweeds and such for thyroid help. I don’t take drugs so I’m always looking for nutrition to help do it’s job.
When I found The Maca Team products, they indicated right away. I’ve tried maca products before but only the plain color. I bought both the red and the black to see what was best. It turns out that the black turned off the thyroid pain sensation within minutes of taking some. I’ve been putting about 1/16 of a teaspoon directly into my mouth three times a day. My appetite has increased and my muscle mass is coming back. This is just after taking it for about one week. My thyroid gland isn’t yelling so loudly now either.

My personal opinion based off my experience is that the maca powder reduces my need for caffeine but allows me to function very well without caffeine or other stimulants. Maca does not give you a flush feeling that chemical based stimulants do (niacin, nitric oxide). But being as it does give you energy I refrain from drinking it several hours before going to sleep. I mix it with one part water and one part apple juice with some ‘mothers’ apple cider vinegar and sip on it throughout the day (chilled is better than room temp).

Before the daily workout I mix a spoonful black maca w/ yogurt. Ideally greek. The increased energy level allows for better lifting and cardio. Minimal lag time to feel effects. Sperm production has increased and libido is somewhat higher. Quite filling. Seems to help focus as well. Only slight downside is the thickening when in contact with mixing agents tends to “waste” more of the powder than I’d like. Overall 4+ stars.

I’ve used other maca products before, with the best prior to yours being a gelatinized version by A Healthy Alternative. However, NOTHING has beat the results I get from your line of products. I’ve been introducing my staff to your maca products. Women with PMS, hot flashes or problems with pain from endometriosis, I point them to the RED. It is amazing how fast this stuff works. I will discuss “dosing” below.
For me…the Black Raw version is the stuff. I’m a high performance person and like to squeeze every moment of every day. To keep me moving at the speed I like, there is nothing like 2 tablespoons of the Black. You read me right — tablespoons. Everyone I put on this, I start them off with tablespoons. One tablespoon is 9 grams. If you want to see and feel a real difference, take it up to at least 9 grams to start…better 18 grams two tablespoons). Then you will see what I am talking about.
For women with a lot of female problems that they want gone like yesterday, the initial dosing I suggest is 3 tablespoons…then as soon as they get relief, to back it down to 2 tablespoons. The smiles on their faces attest to how well this superfood works.

First time taking maca. I have taken tribuless for many years with great success but over time your body seems to adapt these types of things. Still works for me but I’ve never tried maca before.
So I gave maca a go, started feeling the effects on Day 5 and on Day 7 it hit me like a truck! I only use one level teaspoon a day and it weighs out to around 3.2 grams. This had a major effect on my sex drive. I naturally have a very high libido but this made it to the point where it out of control! I’m a 32 year old man.
The refractory period between encounters is cut down significantly and desire is increased significantly.

I would recommend The Maca Team’s products.Many are concerned with what to mix it with. I personally have used both lemonade and sweetened ice tea. I prefer the sweetened ice tea. The red tastes better than the black to me, but both have different purposes.

I have been using the black Maca for a about three weeks now, and the effects are beginning to be noticeable. I am very active, I am an avid hiker, I do Crossfit, and BJJ. My personal opinion based off my experience is that the maca powder reduces my need for caffeine but allows me to function very well without caffeine or other stimulants. Maca does not give you a flush feeling that chemical based stimulants do (niacin, nitric oxide). But being as it does give you energy I refrain from drinking it several hours before going to sleep. I prefer black maca over premium because I feel I get more energy and benefits from black and I find that premium tastes terrible, the smell and taste of premium maca powder remind me of burnt methamphetamine from back in my drug days.

I take black maca most days in my oatmeal. It give it a nice earthy flavor and the provides an excellent amino acid profile unmatched in the plant kingdom. Since I am a vegetarian I am always mindful of getting enough protein and amino acids in my diet. Maca is a great tool to achieve that goal. I also use it after an intense workout as part of an energy recover smoothy. in outmean in the morning I will add one or two level table spoons. In a workout smoothy I typically add I tablespoon.

Just plain amazing! This one DOES work…for me. A tad expensive with the shipping…since I’m from aus but you get what you pay for. I’ve tried few brands but this one takes the cake. Been almost 3 weeks into this and it’s working really well.
I had chronic fatigue syndrome and I was always getting tired even after a good night sleep…but that’s just disappeared after I’ve been taking this one. Apart from the boosted energy levels I also seem to be far calmer than before and don’t have restless legs. Also I had this strange mental fog…at I times I didn’t know what I was going to do next…that disappeared as well.
And the usual libido boost…I wake up like I was 18 again and yes the urge is back in full force. I take this product with my whey protein before bed and early in the morning. On workout days… an additional intake right after my gym session. The taste is a bit strong but goes great with chocolate whey.
Guys if you’re on the fence on whether to buy or not…don’t be…just get it. Black Maca seems to be very underrated yet it really does work on what it’s advertised for. Since it’s natural…it takes time to settle in…but when it does…that’s when you’ll start loving it even more! The product does absolutely everything it’s claimed to do, its wonderful , and a bit habit forming. The only reason I’m giving 4 of 5 stars is on receiving my first 1 kilo bag of black maca the freshness seal was broken ( which I’m sure has to do with shipping and handling and not the maca team ). I like the fact that there bags are impervious to sunlight, its just a shame that because of the seal the maca was exposed to air for an unknown amount of time. Because of the high quality, I’ll continue to take my chances on the shipping, and hope for better results in the future.

I have been taking the raw black Maca for three weeks. I take a couple of Table spoons in either juice or milk on an empty stomach and after 45 minutes I make me a Protein Drink or a smoothie with vegetables and fruit. Before the daily workout I mix a spoonful black maca w/ yogurt. Ideally greek. The increased energy level allows for better lifting and cardio. Minimal lag time to feel effects. Sperm production has increased and libido is somewhat higher. Quite filling. Seems to help focus as well. Only slight downside is the thickening when in contact with mixing agents tends to “waste” more of the powder than I’d like. Overall 4+ stars.
