Gelatinized tri-color maca capsules contain only our pure organic gelatinized tri-color maca powder. This powder is a traditional mix of about 40% yellow, 30% black and 30% red maca root powders and the capsules we make from it offer a broad base of benefits associated with each color of maca. These capsules are also the least expensive maca capsules available and great for anyone on a budget or just starting out with maca.
Both raw and gelatinized maca have been deemed effective in various studies. We’ve also received positive feedback from our customers on both types of maca. In our experience there is not a large drop off between the two. More important than raw or gelatinized in terms of getting great results with maca is the product’s quality and freshness. At The Maca Team, quality and freshness are our top priorities. That said, if you have a generally sensitive stomach or any other issue with digestion, then gelatinized maca is the best choice you can make. The reason is simple. While raw maca can cause temporary symptoms like bloating, gas or upset stomach (in about 5% of people), the gelatinized powder simply will not do so.

They come from an organic farming co-op near Junin, Peru, the traditional farming area for maca. We work only with producers who own and manage their lands at a local grass roots level. I've tried various maca brands over the last 20 years and The Maca Team brand is very special. There is definitely a difference when it comes to the quality and colors of the maca. This red maca does seem to nourish certain parts of my body while the black maca nourishes something else. I know I've been missing the nutrition these maca provide.
