Taking the red maca. I have seen a remarkable difference. I'm feeling more energetic; having less cravings esp for sweets; feeling more balanced, less 'hormonal', etc. I take 8 of the capsules per day and it kicks in pretty fast- within @ half hour of taking them I can feel the marked difference to energy levels. (I first took maca years ago and then was taking too many per day- I think 12 or more capsules, and it made me over-energetic, couldn't sit still, was over-wired and even perspiring, so I stopped. Decided to try again and this time is great so learned it is important to take the correct dose for you.) I can honestly say that I really rely on the red maca. My husband takes the black and he feels the same about it for him. The only issue is that none of the research is prepared to confirm whether you can still take maca while pregnant. We are TTC and - as the research is about 50/50- if I fall pregnant I think I will continue to take it -at least first trimester (but will discuss with midwife before final decision).
