Our Premium Raw Black Maca Capsules contain 100% pure premium process maca powder made from 100% black maca roots. Special processing standardizes nutrients in premium maca products resulting in a more potent overall product.
All of our Maca powders are carefully and consciously grown, processed and handled. They come from an organic farming co-op near Junin, which is the traditional high Peruvian Andes farming area for Maca. We work exclusively with producers who own and manage their lands at a local grass roots level. These farmers are committed both to organic farming and to producing the highest quality Maca products available anywhere. We're very happy to support their work.
About Our Premium Raw Black Maca
Our Raw Premium Black Maca products are made from 100% Black Maca roots. What makes this Maca “premium” is the way in which it is processed. Instead of being sundried, Maca roots are fresh processed immediately after harvest. After coming out of the ground they are cleaned in a citrus solution, ground into a pulp and low temperature dried. This special processing leaves more glucosinolates in the final product. The level of glucosinolates is standardized at above 1% in our Raw Premium Black Maca. This type of Maca:
- Comes from a modern approach to processing maca developed in the past 25 years
- Is fresh processed - maca roots are dried in dehydrators immediately after harvest
- Is never heated over 105F / 40C
- Has higher glucosinolate content - nutrients which may help prevent cancer
- Is much stronger tasting - has a more noticeable maca flavor with more spiciness
- Is limited in supply since it must be produced from fresh roots during annual harvest (June-August)
- Costs more as the process is more labor and equipment intensive
- Is the most complete and potent all-around maca available
Why take capsules over maca powder?
There are a few general reasons why people choose to take maca in capsule form rather than powder form. First, when using capsules, it's easier to get an exact dosage. Second, for people don’t appreciate the taste of maca, capsules are a great alternative. Finally, Maca capsules are particularly useful on the go. They are easy to take on business trips, when travelling, camping etc. In terms of raw premium black maca capsules, many people take over the powder because the powder is particularly strong in taste. The premium processing leaves more of maca roots’ natural spiciness and pungent taste in the final product. What’s the difference between capsules and maca pills?
At The Maca Team, we’ve chosen to put our products into capsule form instead of pill or tablet form for some very good reasons.
First, with capsules we are able to control the entire manufacturing process. That means we can be 100% sure that no 
other ingredients are found in our capsules. When you purchase any of our capsules you can be assured that all you get inside is pure maca powder – never any fillers, flow agents or inert ingredients. In terms of our raw premium black maca capsules, all they contain are 100% premium raw black maca root powder.
Tablets and pills, on the other hand almost always contain a flow agent such as magnesium stearate and often contain preservatives. These are necessary because the maca in a tablet is exposed to the air much easier than the maca in a capsule. The processing of tablets also often involves enough heat to compromise some of the nutrients in maca powder.
A second reason why we choose capsules over tablets for our maca is because the capsules are easier to swallow for most people. Tablets often have rough edges and may even have a grainy texture that makes them much more difficult to ingest.
Finally, our capsules are always 100% vegan. They are made using vegetable cellulose. While other maca tablets or pills can be made with only plant materials, many are not.

This will be my 3rd jar of Black Maca, but not sure if is working at this time. But I also know that herbs take a while to actually see the effect

I'm taking Black Root Premium and Raw Yellow. It took about four days before I noticed a difference. I manage a company with a dozen employees and working anywhere from 12-14 hour days. At the end of the day I would be mentally drained with not much left for the wife and kids. I'm about a month into taking this product and my quality of life has improved tremendously!! Working the same amount with tons of energy left at the end of the day. I have noticed a mental crispness in recalling information in meetings, communicating with employees and engaging with customers. I'm also an ultra-runner and wish I would have found this product earlier this year. During the training season I log 70-80 miles per week and I'm always trying to improve recovery time. In the off season its only 30-40 miles per week and I've noticed less soreness the next day after a long run. To anyone out there looking for a natural edge to stay focused, be more efficient and increase their energy.....by this product!! At 43 years old, it's a game changer for me.

Been taking 2 in AM +2 in PM for 2 weeks have not had any change. Capsules may not be filled with maca. Expected more. From The Maca Team: Hi Kyle, we've also emailed you. First thing we want to assure is that our capsules are filled in house by our employees with our maca so we know that what they contain. Second, we'd recommend taking a bit more and being patient since Maca takes more time to show initial results for some people. If after a month of 6-8 capsules daily there is little noticeable difference it may be that Maca isn't quite right for you. Let us know how else we can help.

This is my second order placed. I've recently received the results of my diabetic A1c blood work. Nov '21: 8.7 April '22: 6.3 July '22: 5.4 NORMAL! After cleaning up my diet even more, resuming near daily exercise, & supplementation (including black maca), I've managed to hit the lowest blood sugar numbers ever in the 15 plus yrs of being diabetic. 1st order of the capsules, & they are as potent as they are convenient. After abt a wk: renewed energy. 2 months in, sustained energy. Added bonus: taken with my other supplements, a cleaner diet, + renewed exercise, & I've been enjoying occasional "morning arousal" once again.
