Our gelatinized red maca products are made from 100% red maca roots. After harvest, the roots are dried in the mountain sun and then gelatinized. Gelatinization is a process in which maca is heated to about 160F / 70C. This changes the starch content of the root and creates a pre-cooked maca product with a different preparation style than raw maca. Nothing is added during the gelatinization process, and all of our gelatinized maca products are vegan.
