Our gelatinized tri-color maca powder is made from a mix of all 3 colors of maca roots: black, red and yellow. This blend is the traditional way of consuming maca as maca roots were not separated by color until the 1990s. Gelatinized tri-color maca has undergone a special process called “gelatinization.” In this process maca roots are heated for a short period of time in special ovens designed to reduce the starch content of maca. The result is a maca powder that is easier to digest because of the absence of the starch. Sometimes people wonder if “gelatin” is used during this process. It is not. Actually, nothing is added to the maca roots during the gelatinization process. That makes the final product, like all of our other products suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike.

A couple of points about gelatinized tri-color maca:

• Gelatinized maca is the easiest maca to digest and best for anyone with a sensitive stomach
• A special process heats the roots is to remove the starch content, making gelatinized maca more concentrated than raw maca (you may need to take less)
• Some nutrients including active metabolites are activated and amplified due to the heat and pressure used in making gelatinized maca

• 1/4 cup hulled hemp seeds
• 1 cup hemp seed milk
• 2 bananas
