About Our Yellow Maca Root and Extract

Yellow maca root is the most common of all 3 major colors of maca roots. It makes up about 60% of each years maca crop. For this reason, it has been the most researched and studied of all the colors. Yellow maca root is indeed a nutritional powerhouse, containing nearly all essential amino acids and free fatty acids, significant levels of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, and C, minerals such as iron, magnesium, zinc, and calcium, a high concentration of bio-available protein and nutrients unique to maca called macaenes and macamides. Maca is also an "adaptogen," or substance that is thought to help the body fight against and overcome stress.

Our yellow liquid maca extract is made from our certified organic yellow maca root chips, which are traditionally grown and harvested on an organic farming co-op in a remote pristine part of the Peruvian Andes.

We’ve chosen glycerin because unlike alcohol it does not denature any of maca root’s constituents while at the same time preserving maca’s enzymes, polysaccharides and aromatics. The result is a sweet tasting liquid extract that anyone, including children and diabetics can use and benefit from.
