Maca Snacks - Tasty Recipes on the Go

We get it, you’re a busy person. But you’ve still decided to make the decision to be serious about your health, and that’s why you’ve added maca to your diet! Getting your daily dose of maca in can be as simple as mixing a teaspoon of your choice of maca powder in with your morning beverage. But if you’d like something with a little more substance, we’ve done the job of collecting some fun and easy Maca Recipes for you. These maca snacks require minimal preparation and can be tossed into your lunchbag for the day. Pack them along on the trail, or into the board room! There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy your maca. Here are some fun ways to start.

Maca Energy Snack Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup flax meal
  • ½ cup pepitas
  • 2 T chia seeds
  • 2 T maca powder
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ⅓ cup almond butter
  • ½ tsp sea salt

Instructions:

In a food processor, grind the almonds into a course consistency.  Add them to a bowl with the sunflower seeds, maca powder, flax meal, pepitas, chia seeds and salt.  In a saucepan, combine the maple syrup, almond butter and coconut oil.  Mix until all are well combined.  Add it to the bowl with the dried ingredients.  Tear a sheet of parchment slightly bigger than an 8X8 pan.  Line an 8X8 pan with the paper.  Spread in the mixture and pack down tight .   Place in the fridge to set.  About 1 hour.

Red Velvet Maca Energy Balls

This recipe is a vibrant, colorful feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.  Plus, it's pretty good for you.   Recipe by @ sarifoodcompany.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medjool dates⁣
  • 2 cups shredded coconut⁣
  • 2 Tbsp organic beet powder⁣
  • 1 tsp red maca powder⁣
  • 5 Tbsp cocoa powder⁣
  • 1 Tbsp nut butter of your choice⁣
  • 1 tsp of vanilla⁣
  • pinch of salt⁣

Preparation:

  1. Blend until comes together, roll into balls
  2. Dip coat in coconut and extra beet powder
  3. Enjoy immediately

Maca Buddha Bites

Satisfy your snack cravings with these wholesome, bite-sized treats! Made with energizing maca powder, nuts, and natural sweeteners, these easy-to-make bites are perfect for a healthy snack that supports sustained energy and wellness throughout the day.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup ground cashews 
  • 1/4 ground pecans 
  • 1/4 cup ground walnuts 
  • 1/4 cup toasted oats (gluten free)
  • 1/4 cup minced dates minced
  • 1/4 cup melted dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate 
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa powder 
  • 1/3 cup of maca powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean or real vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt or Celtic salt

Other optional ingredients (just a pinch of each):

  • Gaduchi
  • Ashwaghanda 
  • Brahmi/Bacopa 
  • shatavari
  • Chywanprash Rasayana 
  • Camu camu/ triphala 
  • Coconut nectar
  • Honey, agave or maple syrup to taste

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients together with a little coconut or ghee till  they form naturally into balls. Chill in the fridge and eat within 10 days.  If not freeze them.

These are energy bites after work out or during a hike.  It's a meal in a ball. Enjoy our Buddha bites!

Macadamia Maca Mulberry Cups

Enjoy a delicious and nutrient-rich treat with these layered cups! Filled with crunchy macadamias, energizing maca powder, and sweet mulberries, these cups offer a satisfying snack that supports energy, wellness, and indulgence in every bite.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raw macadamia nuts 
  • approx 3/4 cup dried white mulberries
  • seeds of one vanilla bean, or 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons maca powder 
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation:

Blend macadamia nuts and salt in vitamix or high speed blender until it is a smooth nut butter. Add dried mulberries, vanilla and maca and blend until smooth. Pour half of mixture halfway into paper baking cups. Add cacao powder and blend to mix, then pour remaining mixture into baking cups. Finish with flake sea salt, if you like! Freeze completely. Let thaw 5-10 mins and enjoy.     Makes 4-6 cups, depending on how full you make them.
