- Getting the most out of adding maca powder to your diet starts with purchasing a high-quality product. There are number of key factors that affect how potent any given raw black maca powder is. In our production we take all of these into account in our efforts to bring you the best raw organic black maca powder available.
- For best results, the roots should be grown on virgin land in and around Junin, Peru. This is the traditional high-altitude land where maca was first discovered in the wild and then cultivated 1000s of years. People have tried to grow maca outside of the very high Andes, but with very little success.
- The roots must be picked at the appropriate time. An expert farmer checks the development of the roots regularly. At about 9 months after planting, they are ready to be harvested.
- Once harvested, the roots must be carefully and fully dried in the mountain sun. Each night they must be covered to prevent the dew from getting them wet again.
- After the roots are dry, it is very important to store them out of humidity to prevent mold. Ours are stored in the dry air of the high mountains in purpose-built warehouses.
- Only when they are ready to be ground into do we bring the roots to the production facility. There the roots are cleansed, ground into a powder and tested 4 times for nutrient content and purity.
- At the point the powder is packaged in opaque foil lined bags and readied to be shipped. Unlike many of our competitors, we order in small batches which means our maca powder almost always gets to our customers within 2-6 months of being packaged.

Definitely gives you energy
I was a little skeptical about this product initially. I had read a lot about Black Maca and decided to try it. I take it in the morning when I get up and in the middle of the afternoon when I am feeling a little tired. It will definitely give you the energy you need to get going. I am hooked on it now. So far, so good!
Hi... I specifically enlisted the aid of the Black Maca, because I wanted more energy in the gym, and more force at home in the bed with my wife! I definitely see the difference. I have tried several different sources of maca powder and this one is by far superior! I am currently living in Shanghai on business and have access to several types of maca offered out here. I've watched them pulverize it for me from actual root in Hong Kong and I've had friends import some for me from Malaysia. All far short in comparison to the quality offered by The Maca Team. I pay a little extra to have it shipped out this far and don't even flinch because it's worth it. Some of my friends out here from Hong Kong ask me to order for them as well now that they've tried it and love it, (not to mention the group pricing on shipping is always nice). I lift weights and live a fit and active life but also work long hours most days. I'm in my early thirties, in very good shape, eat healthy and don't believe I need any additional help. Having said that, this maca has helped me fill in the spaces of my nutrition and I feel more solid with it than without. I don't need to repeat all the benefits of what the company already states, but I would like to confirm them. I feel as though it helps my body run like the machine it should be. I purchased the Red and Black Maca recently and I'm very pleased with the product. The customer service is excellent and the shipping is fast. I take 1 tsp of the Red powder and 1 tsp of the Black powder daily. It definitely is not the best tasting thing, but if you blend it in a fruit smoothie then you can't even taste it. Great product! No complaints. :) I'll be ordering more.

Started using Maca last year and was buying it from my local health food store. While I prefer giving my money to my local health food store there are some things that are just worth buying online. This is one of those products. The first thing I noticed was the smell. The original organic Maca product I have been using NEVER had that fresh outdoor smell you get from picking fresh food. Can't describe the smell but anyone that has worked in a garden and knows the smell of fresh food knows the smell I"m talking about. If you've never smelled that smell you won't know what the heck I'm talking about...but those of you that know the smell - you WILL get that the second you open the bag for the first time. The fact that this company is family owned and dedicated to one product. Yeah - I'm coming back for more. Thanks much!!
