Overview
Our gelatinized premium tri-color maca root powder is made from grade A maca roots that are carefully and consciously grown, processed and handled. These roots are cultivated and harvested on an organic farming cooperative in and around Junin, Peru. This particular maca powder contains a blend of all three maca root colors, red, black and yellow, is pre-cooked (gelatinized) to ease digestion and is specially processed to preserve nutrient content, including glucosinolates, at high levels.
Premium Gelatinized Tri-Color Maca Root Powder
Our premium gelatinized tri-color maca powder is made from about 40% yellow, 30% red and 30% black maca roots. We often call it a “heritage harvest” product because people have traditionally eaten all three colors of maca in a mixuture.
What makes this maca powder “premium” is the way in which it is processed. Instead of being dried in the high mountain sun, select maca roots are fresh processed immediately after harvest. After coming out of the ground they are cleaned in a citrus solution, ground into a pulp and low temperature dried. This special processing leaves more glucosinolates in the final product.
This maca powder is also “gelatinized.” Gelatinization is a process in which maca is heated to high temperatures (160F / 70C). The heat causes the starch molecules in maca root to irreversibly dissolve and the result is a powder that has had some of its nutrients compromised but is easier to digest than raw maca. It’s important to note that nothing is added to maca during the gelatinization process, leaving it 100% vegan.

What Are The Disadvantages?
The main disadvantage of taking this type of maca powder is the taste. Premium maca powder is much spicier and stronger in flavor than standard maca. The flavor is difficult to disguise in smoothies or other recipes. Some people appreciate it, some people just tolerate it and others can’t stand it. Storage and Shelf Life

I have been consuming this Maca brand for the last 5 years (on and off). I tried the black, red, and yellow. The one that I consume the most is normally the yellow one. This premium gelatinized tri color is very good. It tastes like radish -which I don't mind at all. It gives me plenty of energy and wakes me up, and this is what I am looking for. Libido-wise, it is very powerful. Like the yellow one, it also helps to uplift my mood. All in all, I really recommend the Maca Team, the quality and service are top-notch!

I take Maca as a supplement, I take it with a protein shake as a meal replacement for a boost Energy. I like this product as I have no stomach issues compare to other products I've tried in the past. Almond milk goes well with it, make sure it is thoroughly mixed.

Tri color gelatanized Maca
This maca was good fresh and tasty. I have my maca in latte and found the the gelatanized one is best to be blended in smoothies. In a hot drink the Maca got clumpy that I had to strain most of it out. I've had it in smoothies and the flavor is pretty average. Low scent and freshness for sure. Average product
