Our gelatinized yellow maca root powder is made from Peruvian grown yellow maca roots. Yellow maca is the most common of all 3 of the major maca colors, making up about 60% of each year’s harvest. This particular yellow maca powder has been gelatinized or pre-cooked in a specialized process which dissolves starch content, which makes the final product easier to digest. Nothing is added to the powder during this process and it remains 100% plant-based and suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike.

The roots come from an organic farming cooperative in and around Junin, Peru which is the traditional home of maca. Gelatinized yellow maca is made from yellow maca roots, which range in color from beige to gold. These roots are pre-cooked to remove starch content and ease digestion. It takes about 4 kg of maca roots to produce 1 Kg of yellow gelatinized maca powder, making it more concentrated than raw maca products.

Warming Maca Smoothie

Ingredients:

• 1 small apple
• 1/2 frozen banana
• 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
• 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
• 3 medjool dates
• 2 Tbsp (about 15g) chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds
• 1-3 tsp gelatinized yellow maca powder
• 2 tsp apple pie spice
• 3-4 ice cubes

Directions: Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and mix until smooth and creamy. Sip and enjoy!

Another way to use gelatinized yellow maca powder is to add it to some of your favorite baked goods. It’s simple and easy to add a couple of tablespoons to a pancake, muffin or even cookie recipe.

Storage/Shelf Life:
